"Where are all the weres when you need them?" Vlad sighs. "They could pick the scent up even through the dust and must..."
Radu then inspected the area for anything that might give them clues, his sharp eyes peering intensely about for footprints, hand prints, bits of clothing or anything dropped. He sniffed the air, focusing on subtle variances. Finally, he shook his head. "We'll have to post guards. Clearly, they blacked out this area for a reason. For everyone's safety, it falls to us to discover why."
"I'll take first watch," Vlad offered.
"No," Radu shook his head. "Go back to your wife. Let her know what's going on, so she doesn't worry when you are not with her. I'll take first watch. Let ours know, as well, and work out four hour shifts. We should be able to manage those easily enough without alerting whoever did this."
Vlad nodded, and Radu turned to Badger. "Let no-one know what you've discovered. We don't want the ones who did this alerted, lest we lose all hope of catching them."
